Frequently Asked Questions

How long can I have a book checked out for?

There are no due dates for the books in our school library. I typically will allow books to be checked-out for an entire school year. At the end of each school year if you still have a book or multiple books checked-out I will send out a mass email to notify you that books must be returned during the last week of the school year.

If you want to keep a book over the summer please talk to me (Ms. Falcon) personally.

What happens if I lose or damage my book?

At this current time if you lose or damage a book there a no charges or consequences. Please let me know so that we can put it on the list to order a new copy so that we can keep our book collection consistent.

In the future, this may change based on the number of books that are lost or damaged so please make sure to take care of your library books.

If you are able or feel inclined, in the event that you lose or damage a book, you can purchase or acquire a replacement copy for the school library.

What if the school library does not have the book that I want?

You can request that we get a copy of that book. You can fill out a request form, email Ms. Falcon, or talk to her in-person.

What if my parent or guardian does not want me reading a specific type of book or a specific book?

If your parent or guardian does not allow you to read specific genres or books please make sure to talk to Ms. Falcon. I can help you pick out books that fit the restrictions you may have.

What if I can't read a book with a specific topic in it or I have a genre I absolutely will not read but don't know if it is in the book I picked out?

Please talk to Ms. Falcon to ask about specific topics, events, or genre specific questions. If all else fails, we will look to google for answers. You can also see if the following websites provide you with triggers for the book you are interested in:
